Fact Check: Guns Banned From Trump Nra Speech By Secret Service Policy
This was the eighth Steamboat Challenge NRA Pistol Action Match. The name is an homage to Steamboat, a buck horse bred in Wyoming more than 100 years ago and considered by many to be the greatest horse of all time. The steamboat is enshrined in the Rodeo Hall of Fame and is the state symbol of Wyoming.
At the Steamboat Challenge, the match weather was perfect - just like the song "Home on the Range". Especially, "where a discouraging word is rarely heard and the sky is not cloudy all day."
Rounding out the top three in the Production Optics Division (1 to R) are Luke Buchser in third place, Joe Neurotti in second place and Anthony Heinauer of AMU winning the overall high score in the 1910-160X match.
The Steamboat Challenge weekend features multiple shooting events. On Friday afternoon, we have a "Two Gun Aggregate" match, which requires the competitor to fire a different type of gun during the same shooting range used in Saturday's regional. After the regionals, the two scores are combined and awards are given to the high scoring marksman in the rimfire and center fire aggregate, as well as the high scoring marksman in the center fire aggregate.

Walter Johnson of the USA and his AMU teammate, Anthony Heinauer, topped the leaderboard in the Centerfire Aggregate with a score of 3822-310X.
Saturday was a regional matchup featuring the four traditional Bianchi Cup events that make up the annual Action Pistol National Championship. Since 1979, the barricade, practical, moving target and drop plates have stood the test of time, requiring speed and accuracy under severe time pressure. Total 192 shots fired, maximum possible score 192-1920x. In addition, NRA regional medallions will be presented to the top three shooters in each action pistol division at the 2022 Steamboat Challenge.
2022 Wyoming State Match Special Category Winners (l. to r.): Senior Military Anthony Heinauer, Senior Law Enforcement Officer Joey DeLeon, Senior Ms. Julie Gollob, Senior Grand Chief Jim Flagg and Senior Senior and Senior Military Veteran Alex Ragulski.
The Wyoming State Championships, also known as the "Battle for the Buckles," took place on Sunday. Custom championship belt buckles will be awarded to the top three finishers overall, as well as a special buckle award for the highest scoring shooter in the special "Traditional Values-Production Revolver" category. In addition, contestants with the highest total points in the regional and state matches will be awarded special "Equestrian" prizes.
Introduction To Competitive Shooting
To add positive pressure to the state meet, two of the four events were unknown to competitors until Saturday. The state match consisted of two classic Bianchi Cup events - moving target (modified) and falling plates, plus two more randomly determined wheel spins - the barricade (modified) and speed loading challenge. Both events are covered by the NRA Action Pistol rules and, in most cases, are rarely contested at the regional or state level.
Barricade (Modified) is similar to a traditional barricade match, but requires you to shoot on one side of the barricade, then reload and shoot from the other side of the barricade under time pressure at variable distances to targets.
As for the Speedload Challenge, it is similar to the traditional practical, but requires you to fire at three variable distance reload targets under time pressure, and some stages are only fired with the weak and strong hand. A total of 192 shots gives a maximum possible score of 1920-192x.
Wyoming State Championship Belt Buckle Winners (L. to R.): Second Place Joey DeLeon, State Champion Anthony Heinauer, Third Place Ryan Franks and First Place Production Revolver Christopher Haddock.

You never know what you're going to get when you enter an action pistol match. Weather conditions can be rainy, cold, windy or near perfect. At this year's Colorado State Action Pistol Championship, held at the Boulder Rifle Club in Boulder County, Colo., competitors not only enjoyed great weather, but better shooting as well.
As competitive shooters, we know that sometimes you have to juggle and balance work, family, school, and more just to get through the day. When you add the NRA Action Pistol competition to the mix, it can get downright crazy. Last year, Colorado State Action Pistol Championship match officials developed a shooting program that breaks up the days and competition so people can come when they want and drive for other things.
At first, each day was divided into morning and afternoon shifts. Each team can have 12 people. Then the staff divides the teams in half. One bay had a barricade and practice events, while the other contained drop plates and a standard.

Best of all, perhaps, a matchstick can keep things going without speed. The largest team at the 2022 Colorado State Action Pistol Championship consisted of four competitors, all four completing all four events in under an hour and a half.

The Anatomy Of An Nra Bianchi Cup Open Gun
The 2022 Colorado State Action Pistol Championship saw approximately 25 competitors shoot approximately 41 different weapons. As for pricing, the base match fee was $50, $25 for the second gun, and $15 for all subsequent guns. Our people are out and shooting.
Everyone had a good time in the match this year and there were a few surprises at the finish. And there are many more pictures, but there is only so much space. With that in mind, there is much more to do - which we will - to make next year even better. In 2023, join us in Colorado for a great NRA pistol competition.
