Winn Medical Center - This 65,000 square foot LEED Silver Certified project significantly expands the existing Winn Army Hospital. The new building includes a physiotherapy and occupational therapy clinic, an orthopedics and podiatry clinic, a health care clinic and a social work clinic. The project also includes a 1,000 square meter renovation to include a new addition to the existing hospital, as well as a central extension and renovation to support both the expansion of the hospital and the expansion of the hospital in the future.
The project required a major relocation of equipment and facilities, including primary power and communication loops, demolition of existing facilities, relocation of mobile MRI facilities, and other facilities to support the temporary clinical facility. The hospital is designed for the latest anti-terrorist/military security requirements, including advanced drop and blast protection requirements.

This project is based on an active campus that presents several challenges. The work was well integrated between the hospital's ongoing work and the new building being built, leaving little room for maintenance and little construction time. Because of the challenges associated with building on a solid, functional site, such as B. infection control, communication and planning were essential.
